After the surrender of Comares to the Christians, the thirty Moorish families of the town were baptised en masse in the street which has since been known as the Calle del Perdon or Street of Forgiveness.
The act, which was significant, far-reaching and symbolic, has since been remembered by thirty tolls of the church bell after the three main tolls in the High Mass of Sundays and festivals.
Turn left, past the old Post Office (Correos - no longer in use) and carry on up the hill to a lookout point with fantastic views to the south and the coast.
