Trail 3: La Teja - Red Route
|12 Km||6 hours||Foot, horse or bike||Medium-High|
Another circular route, departing from the main square, Plaza del Balcón. But this is a more challenging 12 Km / 6 hour walk, along some of the cliffs that protect Comares, nowadays only from invading eagles.
There is plenty of countryside, wild plants and oodles of trees. Two natural springs can be found. ‘La Fuente Delgado’ (lit. ‘Thin Fountain’) and ‘Fuente Sana’ (‘Healthy Fountain’) are both situated at the foot of the ‘Tajo Pilarejo’ (lit. ‘Cleft Pillar’).
The waters are rich in minerals, but do not promise eternal life or a cure for spots.
