The Velez-Malaga gate was another important point of entry through the walls that protected the town. From inside its defensive perimeter the inhabitants controlled entry from the north east and also accessed the Camino de Aguada – the water route.

Turn back and head uphill. Turn left into Calle Castillo and up the steps.
