Plaque 5 - Street of the Muslim Arches

Comares shows evidence of being a town with strong Arabic connections which have been reduced over the centuries by natural Andalucian influences. The strong imprints of the Arabic character are evident in all corners of the town, where you can see typical Muslim traits; winding narrow streets and buildings separated by brick arches, Moorish style.

Continue downhill and turn into Calle Agua. Walk down to the picnic area and lookout point and… lookout!

Here you will find a map of the longer walking routes around Comares and see the cobbled footpath that leads down to the Fuente Gordo (Great Fountain).
